Services Information Architect Services Information Architecture, Usability, Web, Experience Design IA Expertise Systematic Approach: My expertise and knowledge base are in Information Architecture (IA)—coupled with experiences in Technical and Professional Writing, Instructional Design, E-Learning, Adult Learning Theories, and Corporate Training. Degrees and credentials are in Information Architecture and Design. I take a systematic—flexible—approach for successfully accomplishing professional results and excellent design products. Many projects involve producing deliverables that include doing: Design plans, Website audits, task analysis, card sorting, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, mapping, diagramming, user scenarios, personas, wire frame mockups, and rapid prototyping. When developing products for end users, one thinks about sense-making, cognitive factors, and wayfinding. These are components to human factors, including cognitive information processing and usability, cognitive informatics. That extends far into human-computer interaction, as it relates to end users. This is why Information Architecture is important and paramount to digital design products. Importance of Information Architecture Structure and Wayfinding: The significance and great importance of Information Architecture is that it provides needed structure for digital design products and Websites, making information technology usable. Without structure it might be difficult to wayfind and sense-make on Websites or using other interactive products. By providing Websites, or other digital design products, with structure, information is put in order and structured—no longer chaotic. This speaks to about how end users wayfind, sense-make, or navigate, using digital design products. The importance of designing with user-centered design principles in mind—prior to implementation. Expert Information Architect Qualifications: Both undergraduate-level programs, graduate-level programs, IA Certifications, IA Vocational Training programs provided highly specialized training in Information Architecture and Design. Other skills include User Experience Design, Project Management, Technical and Professional Writing (experience in production, writing, document design, editing), Instructional Design (ADDIE Model, E-learning), and Corporate Training. Effective IA Communication Skills Deliverables for Projects: I take a systematic approach for doing high-quality design research, project management, heuristic evaluations (usability testing), documentation, conceptual generation to brainstorming. User scenarios and use case scenarios, wire frame mockups, mapping and diagramming, site maps, rapid prototyping, implementation, and system testing. Design research involves doing extensive research for a report. Doing expert and professional Website audits as well as successful Information Architecture and Design. My professional experience and credentials qualify me as an expert.
